If an ad platform does not have a native integration in MMM Pilot, you can import daily campaign data via a dedicated Ad Platform CSV Upload workflow. This structured process includes column mapping and access to the Aggregation Studio for grouping campaigns into sub-channels.
1. Export Data from Your Ad Platform
Export a report with daily granularity from your chosen ad platform. Ensure the following columns are included:
| Column | Required | Description |
| Date | ✓ | Date of the data point (e.g., YYYY-MM-DD). |
| Campaign Name | ✓ | The official name of the ad campaign. |
| Spend | ✓ | Daily media spend for the campaign. |
| Impressions | — | Total times ads were viewed (recommended). |
| Clicks | — | Daily click counts (recommended). |
Platform-Specific Export Steps
- TikTok Ads: In TikTok Ads Manager, navigate to Reporting, set granularity to Daily, and group by Campaign.
- Snapchat Ads: In Ads Manager, use Manage Ads, select your campaigns, and click Download to export a CSV with daily “Time” breakdown.
- Pinterest Ads: In the Reporting section, set Time Breakdown to Day and use Customize Columns to include Spend, Impressions, and Outbound Clicks.
- X (Twitter) Ads: Go to the Campaign dashboard, set the date range, click Export, and select the daily aggregation option.
2. Upload and Map Columns
- Navigate to the Data tab in MMM Pilot and select Add Data → Upload Ad Platform CSV.
- Drag and drop your exported file into the dialog.
- Map Columns: Match the expected platform fields (Date, Campaign Name, Spend, etc.) to the headers in your CSV file. The system validates that all required fields are mapped before proceeding.
3. Review in the Aggregation Studio
Once mapped, your data enters the Aggregation Studio, where it is checked against your project’s business outcomes (dependent variables). You can:
- Configure Sub-Channels: Edit Sub-channel Names to group related campaigns (e.g., grouping all “Summer_Sale” campaigns across TikTok and Pinterest into one “Social_Summer” channel).
- Aggregate Data: All campaigns with the same sub-channel name are merged into a single daily time series for the model.
- Filter Campaigns: Use the Ignore toggle to exclude test campaigns or low-spend “noise” that might skew the analysis.
4. Final Import
Click Import to commit the data. Each unique sub-channel name will appear as a new data source in your project, ready for field mapping in your next model run.
