Import campaign-level spend and performance data directly from Facebook and Instagram to understand their role in your marketing mix.
Prerequisites
- A Facebook account with access to Meta Business Suite and at least one active ad account.
- Admin permissions for the ad accounts you wish to connect.
- An existing project in your workspace.
Step-by-Step
1. Initiate the Connection
- Navigate to your project’s Data tab.
- Click Add Data → Meta Ads.
- The Meta Ads integration card will appear; click the Connect button.
2. Authenticate with Meta
- You will be redirected to the Facebook Business Login page.
- Select the Facebook account linked to your business assets.
- Grant the requested permissions, which typically include read access to your ad campaigns and performance metrics.
- Offline Access: The platform secures a token to refresh your data automatically, ensuring your reports are always up to date without requiring manual logins.
3. Select Ad Accounts
- After authentication, you will return to the platform to see a list of accessible ad accounts.
- Select the specific accounts you want to include in your analysis.
- The integration card will update with an Active status badge.
4. Import and Organize Data
Once connected, you can refine how your Meta data is structured:
- Click Sync Now on the integration card.
- In the Import Setup Dialog, select your desired date range.
- The platform fetches daily data, opening the Aggregation Studio where you can review your campaigns:
| Column | Description |
| Campaign Name | The name as it appears in Meta Ads Manager. |
| Objective | The marketing goal (e.g., Conversions, Traffic, Awareness). |
| Total Spend | Total investment over the selected timeframe. |
| Spend Share | The percentage of your total Meta budget this campaign represents. |
| KPIs | Performance data including impressions, clicks, and spend in the last 12 months. |
| Correlation | A statistical score showing how closely this campaign moves with your target business outcome. |
| Sub-channel Name | Editable field for grouping campaigns into strategic categories. |
- Refine Your Channels:
- Group by Strategy: Edit the Sub-channel Name to group related campaigns (e.g., “Meta_Prospecting” or “Meta_Retargeting”). All campaigns with the same label will be analyzed as a single channel.
- Filter Outliers: Toggle the Ignore switch for any test campaigns or irrelevant data you want to exclude from the model.
- Click Import to finalize. These aggregated channels are now ready for your next analysis run.
Managing the Connection
Sync Now
Select Sync Now to refresh your data with the latest metrics from Meta. This keeps your model current while preserving your historical imports.
Disconnect
To remove the connection, click Disconnect on the integration card. Your previously imported data will remain in the project, but the secure link to Meta will be severed.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Resolution |
| No accounts found | Ensure you have admin access to the Business Manager and ad accounts in the Facebook settings. |
| Connection failed | Verify that your browser allows pop-ups and redirects from facebook.com. |
| “Credentials Expired” | Re-authenticate by clicking Sync Now or reconnecting the integration to refresh the secure token. |
| Missing permissions | Check Business Integrations in your Facebook settings to ensure the platform has full read access to your ads. |
