Import campaign-level spend and performance data directly from your Google Ads account to build a holistic view of your marketing impact.
Prerequisites
- A Google account with access to a Google Ads account (direct access or via a Manager/MCC account).
- An active project in MMM Pilot.
Step-by-Step
1. Initiate the Connection
- Navigate to the Data tab within your project.
- Select Add Data → Google Ads.
- On the Google Ads integration card, click Connect.
2. Authenticate with Google
- A secure Google login screen will open, requesting access to your Google Ads data.
- Select the Google account linked to your advertising campaigns.
- Grant the necessary permissions. The platform requests offline access. this allows the platform to retrieve data without requiring you to re-authenticate each time.
- Once authorized, you will be redirected back to the platform.
3. Select a Google Ads Account
- An Account Selection Dialog will display all Google Ads accounts linked to your identity.
- If you use a Manager (MCC) account, you will see your full account hierarchy.
- Select the specific account you want to analyze.
- The integration card will update with an Active status badge, showing your account name and customer ID.
4. Import and Aggregate Campaign Data
Once connected, you can refine exactly how your data enters your model:
- Click Import Data on the integration card.
- Choose the date range you wish to analyze in the Import Setup Dialog.
- The platform fetches your daily campaign performance.
- The Aggregation Studio opens, providing a detailed table of your campaigns:
| Column | Description |
| Campaign Name | The name as it appears in Google Ads. |
| Objective | The campaign type (e.g., Search, Display, Video). |
| Total Spend | Sum of spend over your selected date range. |
| Spend Share | The percentage of your total Google Ads budget this campaign represents. |
| Spend L12M | Total spend over the last 12 months. |
| Impressions/Clicks | Total volume of views and engagements. |
| Correlation | How closely this campaign’s spend aligns with your business outcome. |
| Sub-channel Name | Editable field to group your campaigns for the analysis. |
- Refine Your Data:
- Group Campaigns: Edit the Sub-channel Name to aggregate related campaigns under a single label (e.g., “Google_Search_Brand” or “Google_PMax”). All campaigns with the same label will be treated as one channel in your model.
- Filter Noise: Use the Ignore toggle to exclude test campaigns or low-spend activities that might clutter your analysis.
- Click Import to finalize. These aggregated channels are now ready for field mapping in your next analysis run.
Managing the Connection
Sync Now
Select Sync Now to refresh the latest campaign data. This updates the platform’s cache without overwriting your previously imported data sources.
Disconnect
If you need to remove the link, click Disconnect on the integration card and confirm. Your previously imported data will remain in the project, but no new data will be fetched.
Troubleshooting
